Temporal validation of the HYPE model for discharge and nitrate-N concentrations in the period 2006–2009. The model could represent significantly well the hydrologic dynamical behaviour, except during some extreme events, which were underestimated resulting in reduction of NSE compared to the previous period 1997–2003.
