Green Deal - Recovery plan for Europe: current status and challenges in developing and developed European countries

Energy, Sustainability and Society welcomes submissions to the thematic series on 'Green Deal - Recovery plan for Europe: current status and challenges in developing and developed European countries'.

Genesis, objective and overview of the special issue

The European Green Deal (2021) is Europe's most ambitious agenda, with the main goal of a sustainable transition for all European countries. Having defined actions in mind, the basic goal of a special issue is to summarize and present specifics of planning and implementation of a transition towards more sustainable societies, with emphasis on economic, environmental, energy and social changes.

Readers will have the opportunity to get insight into the current status and challenges of sustainable development in selected EU and neighbouring non-EU countries, with an overview of possible solutions and examples of practice in different sectors.

Apart from the scientific community, selected papers may be of particular interest to practitioners and decision makers.
